In this library I study science and dream
Of worlds where unknown variables seem
To answer those questions that I must ask
If I am to be worthy of my personal task
Books piled high, knowledge at my feet
In the silent halls, hearing no heartbeat
I may solve the mysteries deep and wide
But in my own heart, I feel denied
This world of science kills romance
Gives my heart desires little chance
Among the numbers I seek a sign
That this man and love may yet align
Lectures and labs, my days are filled
With interesting stuff, my mind is thrilled
But in the quiet moments, I can't ignore
That a part of me wants a lot more
I sees couples laugh, hand in hand
Think love should be a subject banned
Then dream of finding the person right
A girl who'll join me through the night
This world of science kills romance
Gives my heart desires little chance
Among the numbers I seek a sign
That this man and love may yet align
I write her name inside my book
A hopeful glance, a secret look
In the formulas, I seek a clue
Can I find love, such hopes are few
This world of science kills romance
Gives my heart desires little chance
Among the numbers I seek a sign
That this man and love may yet align
So I wait in the quiet night
Hoping the day will come into sight
Where theories are less than a pretty face
A perfect love that will fill my space
