Slow Blinks

Late at night, my puss and I
Lay together, side by side
I spill my heart, she listens well
Her eyes wide open, her purrs swell

Her little whiskers, they're my guide
When I'm down, she's by my side
I share my dreams, she meows reply

I tell her 'bout the boy I see
She purrs approval, comforts me
She knows my secrets, my desire
She’s who sees my inner fire

In her gaze, I find my peace
Slow blinks tell me worries cease
More than my pet, trusted friends
By my side, her heart she lends
