Stuck in this foreign land,
A kitchen full of pots and pans.
I work hard, but it's a fight,
Just trying to make it through the night.
The city's bustling, but my heart's in Shanghai,
Wishing in my heart that I could just fly
I miss the neon lights, Shanghai's city shining bright,
The bustling streets where dreams come alive at night.
In this tiny kitchen, just trying to survive,
London's grey skies can't match Shanghai's vibrant vibe.
Feeling displaced, out of sync and space,
Wishing I was back home, in that warm embrace.
Dreaming of Shanghai nights, and familiar faces,
But I'll keep pushing, chasing my hopes and chasing my dreams.
In the quiet moments, I recall the taste,
Of street food feasts, with no time to waste.
Dim sum delights and noodles so fine,
In London’s gloom, I crave that joy, that shine.
Through the window, raindrops blur my view,
But in my mind, Shanghai's skyline cuts through.
The Pearl Tower gleaming, the river flowing fast,
These cherished memories, they're meant to last.
I’ll keep working hard, with each passing day,
Holding onto dreams that won’t fade away.
From London’s grey to Shanghai’s hue,
I’ll bridge the distance, I’ll make it through.
